KNYSNA NEWS - FC Rebels marked their return to Safa Eden Regional Men's League action with an impressive 4-2 victory over Paris United at Hornlee Stadium over the past weekend.
Coming just after the festive break, the Hornlee-based side showed sharpness and intent to secure maximum points at home.
Zane Gesels led the charge with a brace, while El-hadji Bassel and Caylin Hennies also found the back of the net in an entertaining encounter. Rebels dominated the opening half, applying sustained pressure and capitalising on their chances to take a 2-0 lead into the break.
Paris United responded with determination in the second half, scoring twice through effective wing play, but Rebels maintained their composure.
Driven on by their supporters, the hosts struck twice late on to seal the win. The result lifts FC Rebels to seven points after five matches as they continue their push for a top-eight finish, while Paris United remain rooted at the bottom of the log with three points.
