What we think of Valentine's Day

KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna-Plett Herald went to find out what Valentine's Day means to locals, and how they plan to celebrate the day.

It is just an ordinary day, it's just another day simply because my religion doesn't celebrate such days. I will be doing the normal stuff, maybe laundry. Even my husband is not into Valentine's.

It's a good day because one gets presents maybe from their husband. I don't know how I will be celebrating – maybe my husband will be taking me out to dinner.

It is a day of love. I will be working since I'm a hairdresser. I am hoping I will I get something like a present on the day but I'm not sure.

It is a day for people who are in love and it is celebrated by married people. I will be spending the day with my wife, we will be sitting and having a braai, I will treat her like a queen.

It is more than just about couples, you don't have to be in a relationship to celebrate Valentine's Day. You can celebrate it with your mom and your kids. I will spoil my girlfriend and my children, and then later take my girlfriend out, eat something and then go out to dance.

Every day is supposed to be Valentine's day, not just for the lovers but for any type of relationship. I don't know yet if I will be doing something but I will be working definitely, and later I will do something.
