GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - The South African Weather Service (SAWS) says a cut-off low pressure system will bring widespread rain to the Western Cape from Sunday, 22 February, until Tuesday morning, 24 February.
Most areas can expect between 15mm and 35mm of rain. Parts of the Central and Little Karoo could receive more, between 45mm and 55mm.
A Yellow Level 2 warning has been issued for these areas.
There is still some uncertainty about how much rain will fall along the southern coast on Tuesday.
One weather model shows very heavy rain of up to 155mm between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay, which could cause localised flooding and rising river levels.
Other models, however, predict much lower rainfall totals.
SAWS says it is closely monitoring the system and will provide updates if conditions worsen.
Residents are advised to stay informed and be prepared for wet conditions.
