GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - The South African Weather Service has issued a weather warning for extremely high fire danger conditions expected over the Matzikama, Cederberg and Laingsburg municipalities of the Western Cape on Friday, 17 October.
The cold front that brought a sprinkling of rain to the area overnight and this morning is moving on and Friday looks to be fine and pleasant, even hot in places.
Laingsburg is expected to reach a high of 31°C tomorrow.
Be sure to keep hydrated in hot weather.
Western Cape
Fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy from the evening, but cloudy over the northern parts. It will be cool in places along the south coast. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong east to south-easterly south of Cape Point and along the south coast, otherwise moderate to fresh south to south-westerly, spreading to the south coast by the evening.
It will be light to moderate west to north-westerly north of Cape Columbine from late afternoon until late evening. The expected UVB sunburn index: Very High
Western half of the Eastern Cape
Fog patches in places over the interior in the morning, otherwise fine and warm, but cool in places along the coast. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-easterly.
Eastern half of the Eastern Cape
Cloudy with fog patches in places over the interior at first, otherwise partly cloudy and warm. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-easterly.

Weather outlook for Saturday and Sunday: Fine over the western interior, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers over the central and eastern parts.
Rain and showers are also expected in places along the south coast and adjacent interior.
