KNYSNA NEWS - A 38-year-old waiter recently appeared in the Knysna Magistrate's Court on charges of fraud and theft, having been arrested for duplicating patrons' bank cards at a restaurant in Knysna.
"The alleged fraud was reported to the Hawks by Absa Bank Forensic Investigation Unit after suspicious transactions were noticed at the restaurant," said Hawks spokesperson Zinzi Hani.
"The suspect was apprehended whilst appearing in the Humansdorp Court on an unrelated charge." She said the suspect appeared in the Knysna Magistrate's Court on 15 June, where the case was postponed to 18 July to determine a date for the start of the trial, as the investigation has already been concluded.
