KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna-based side Voota FC's second team delivered an impressive performance in the KLFA lower division when they beat Sedge United (Sedgefield) 3-2 in a tough KLFA Domestic League encounter at Loerie Park in Knysna last weekend.
Both sides are currently at the bottom half of the stream B log table. Sedge United has earned six points to date, while Voota FC is on seven points. Both teams have played nine games.
The first half ended on 1-1 after a goal by Vitumbiko Banda of Sedge United while Ivile Msele scored for Voota.
A fast-paced second half saw both teams playing delightful passes from the centre of the field. Msele's second goal - from a set piece - made it 2-1, encouraging his wingers to push harder on the attack.
Ayakhanya Manina extended Voota's lead to 3-1 after great footwork from the centre of the field.
The Sedgefield team came back into the game and managed to better their score when Banda netted their second goal in the dying moments of the game.
