KNYSNA NEWS - A man believed to be in his early seventies has died after his vehicle plunged into the Knysna Lagoon on Monday, 22 December 2025.
According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Spies, Knysna police have opened an inquest docket following the incident, which occurred at approximately 14:00 on the N2 at the entrance to Knysna.
Reports indicate that emergency services were dispatched to the scene after a Ford Ranger left the roadway and entered the lagoon.
The body of the male driver was later recovered from the water. He was declared deceased at the scene by medical personnel.
An autopsy was conducted today to determine the exact cause of death. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
