Update
KNYSNA NEWS - A collision between a bakkie and a Mercedes on the N2 in Sedgefield, has left 11 people injured. In spite of extensive damage to the vehicles and many of the injured travelling on the back of the bakkie, thankfully no fatalities were reported. The crash happened at about 07:15 this morning, Friday 21 June, in the vicinity of the Engen filling station.
Twelve people were travelling in and on the back of the bakkie. ER24 transported three people to hospital with moderate injuries while Metro transported the other patients who sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes was taken to hospital with possible spinal injuries.
Services who attended to the accident were ER24, Metro, Frontier Medix, Eden Events, Sedgefield Fire, Provincial Traffic and SAPS.
Details of the cause of the collision are unknown, and more information has been requested from the police.
