KNYSNA NEWS - The roar of engines and the gleam of chrome lit up Knysna's Thesen Island on Saturday 9 August, as the Thunder Tour Ultimate Roadshow 2025 rolled into town for its grand finale.
Drawing car enthusiasts, families, and locals, the event saw around 82 classic and performance vehicles on display, with over 140 drivers participating in this high-octane celebration.
The Thunder Tour, an annual week-long road trip featuring muscle cars, rat rods, street rods and supercars, kicked off in Pretoria and thundered through South Africa before concluding in Knysna.
This year's event wasn't just about speed and style, it was about driving change.
Round Table Knysna proudly hosted the final leg of the tour, organising a public car show to raise funds for local charities in and around Knysna.
All proceeds from the event are being donated to those in need, making the day of excitement one with real impact.
"This event was about uniting passion and purpose," said Bernie Neser, chairperson of Round Table Knysna.
"We approached the Thunder Tour team to bring the finale to Knysna and turn it into something meaningful for our community."
Thunder Tour participants also raised additional funds internally throughout the journey, reinforcing the event's strong charitable spirit.
After more than five years of inactivity, Round Table Knysna is back with a new committee, fresh energy, and a clear vision to uplift the community. "There's so much need in and around Knysna," Neser said. "We're here to serve."
With its motto "Adapt. Adopt. Improve.", Round Table Knysna is steering full speed ahead, proving that with the right drive, anything is possible.
