KNYSNA NEWS - Three people died in a mystery fire at an upmarket tree top chalet in the Garden Route National Park in Harkerville Forest on Thursday 18 July.
Western Cape SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Christopher Spies said the circumstances surrounding the tragedy are being investigated.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established, he said.
SANParks also confirmed the fire and deaths, but said it could not supply further information at this stage. More details are expected to be made available later today or tomorrow.
On the SANParks website the chalet is marketed as follows: “A getaway in the tree-tops. The chalet is spacious, has two bedrooms with bathrooms en suite and is superbly appointed. It is the ideal place to enjoy the peace of the forest.”
