KNYSNA NEWS – Two women in Knysna have been arrested after they were found with drugs to an estimated value of R135 000 in a house in Dam se Bos.
The duo was arrested in the very early hours of the morning yesterday, Wednesday 11 October, by the Knysna crime prevention unit.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies, an initial search of the house saw them find 1 000 Mandrax tablets followed by 300g of tik in an extended search of the house.
"The members confiscated the drugs and arrested both occupants, women aged 27 and 51. They face a charge of dealing in drugs," Spies said.
"The suspects remains in police custody. They will make their first court appearances in the Knysna Magistrate's Court, once charged. Western Cape police management lauded the members for their efforts to rid communities of firearms and drugs which continue to threaten the safety of rural communities."
