Update @ 11:03: The blockade has been lifted and the N2 has reopened.
KNYSNA NEWS - A blockade has been formed by taxis along the N2 in Knysna, in the section between Grey Street and Nelson Street.
The blockade is being carried out by taxis belonging to the Cape Organisation for the Democratic Taxi Association (Codeta).
According to Knysna Municipality spokesperson Christopher Bezuidenhoudt, the blockade is not related to any licensing or municipal related issues, however the Knysna Traffic Department has engaged with Codeta and other local taxi operators to help mediate and resolve the dispute.
"We are engaging in conversations with them in order to resolve the situation," Bezuidenhoudt confirmed.
The blockade has caused the closure of the N2 between Grey Street and Nelson Street, and traffic is being diverted through the centre of town.
