Update
PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - In true yellow press tradition, British tabloid media got swept up in a hyperbolic frenzy when reporting on the shark attack death of Kimon (Kiki) Bisogno (39) of Cape Town at Plett's Central Beach on Sunday.
Images reminiscent of the movie Jaws accompanied a report in The Sun that fellow swimmers "fled the water screaming".
Under the headline "Blood in the Water", The Mirror reported: Mum mauled to death by 13ft shark metres from family as 'sea turned red'.
The Daily Mail headlined the story: "Holidaymaker, 39, is killed by great white shark in shallow water off coast of South Africa during early morning swim to celebrate bank holiday."
The incident made world headlines and even made the front page of the New York Post in the United States.
