KNYSNA NEWS - A host of local small, medium and micro enterprise (SMME) businesses are being hosted at Woodmill Lane for a special three-day pop-up exhibition to help promote small businesses from the Garden Route. The market continues until tomorrow, Saturday 29 October.
The pop-up market is an initiative of the Small Enterprises Development Agency (Seda) and 30 vendors are exhibiting their products and services at the centre.
Alex Qunta, Seda Western Cape manager, believes that this opportunity will address one of the key challenges that impede the growth of small businesses, which is access to markets.
"The inability for small businesses to access markets has been noted as one of the major factors threatening their longevity," he says.
"Access to markets is one of the fundamental requirements of credit providers to access funding. However, small businesses located in areas like Knysna are at a disadvantage compared with their urban counterparts."
The next market by Seda will be held in the Bitou municipal area during December.
