KNYSNA NEWS - The Knysna Music Society is hosting a performance by the internationally acclaimed Spina & Benignetti Piano Duo at the Dutch Reformed Church Hall in Fitchat Street, Knysna on Monday 10 February.
'Strong musical lineage'
"The spirit of music courses through the veins of Eleonora Spina and Michele Benignetti.
"Coming from a strong musical lineage with backgrounds as soloist and chamber musicians, Eleonora and Michele's partnership as a piano duo took off in 2013 and was met immediately with positive critical acclaim," a release on the duo reads.
Gold Medal
Their concert activity has seen them perform in concert halls throughout Europe and across the globe, and they were awarded the Gold Medal at the Manhattan International Music Competition in New York.
Their programme at the the Dutch Reformed Church Hall includes performing The Trout by Schubert, and from Die Fledermaus by Strauss. The performance starts at 19:00 and tickets cost R150 for adults and R50 for learners.
