SEDGEFIELD NEWS - Smuts United has made an impressive comeback to finish in the Top 8 of the Safa Eden Hollywoodbets Regional League for the 2024/25 season.
Despite a slow start to the campaign where they dropped vital points and hovered near the bottom of the log, the team showed strong character in the second leg of the season - securing crucial wins against some of the league's toughest opponents.
Smuts United also made headlines earlier in 2025 when they were crowned Knysna Local Football Association Easter Tournament champions (KLFA), defeating African Eagles in the final.
The final league standings saw Smuts United earn 39 points from 30 matches, recording 11 wins, six draws, and 13 losses with an impressive 65 goals scored over the season.
Meanwhile, Sedgefield's football spirit continues to rise. Young Boys FC and Sedge United FC are currently leading the KLFA Promotional League, with both clubs pushing hard for a promotional play-off spot.
