KNYSNA NEWS - An alleged serial offender was arrested at a Lindsay Street residence in Hunters Home, Knysna after a botched burglary attempt on Monday 15 April – but not before apparently assaulting the homeowner.
Allsound Security and police responded to scene and made the arrest.
It is alleged that the man is not a first-time offender and that he was arrested on 17 November last year for committing a similar crime in the area but was released on bail.
According to a report by the security company, the suspect had entered through an open door and was stopped in his tracks by the homeowner as he was reaching for a laptop. The owner tried to block the suspect when a scuffle broke out in which the owner suffered minor injuries but still managed to overpower the suspect. Security officers arrived at the property and handcuffed the suspect while awaiting the police's arrival.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in the Knysna Magistrate's Court on Wednesday 17 April.
