SEDGEFIELD NEWS - The annual Slow Fun Run and Beach Festival will once again be hosted at Myoli Beach on 22 December, Sedgefield’s fifth Beach Festival since its inception.
The festival is organised by the Sedgefield branch of Knysna Tourism, Sotheby’s Sedgefield and Misfits Studio.
"This year we welcome Twizza on board to add some colour and fun to the day," said Sedgefield tourism manager Belinda Hobson.

According to Hobson Misfit Studio will be coordinating this year’s 5km Slow Fun Run, which will this year again be held along two of the five beaches Sedgefield has to offer.
"Last year the race started with Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters (now Miss Universe), and this year we welcome another celebrity to open the run, South African born World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) professional wrestler Justin Gabriel," said Hobson.
Entries for adults will cost R20 per person, and R10 for children.
"As with all the activities planned in the programme, these entries and proceeds will go to the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) of South Africa," Hobson added.
The Fun Run, said Hobson, will be followed by the Sotheby’s amateur fun sand-sculpting competition. "The theme this year being Santa's Workshop."
Entries will cost R100 per team, with up to four people allowed, and will be available at Sedgefield Tourism Office, Cycleworx and Sotheby’s Sedgefield.
The festival will end with the popular egg toss, pictured here, at an entry fee of R10.
"This competition is great fun and an interactive way for families to get creative and connect," said Hobson.
Sotheby's will once again organise the Beach Treasure Hunt that promises to delight the little ones as usual.
"The treasure hunt has always proved to be a very spirited affair in past," Hobson added.
Entry will cost R10 per child. The day will end with the popular egg toss at an entry fee of R10. Again, all proceeds will go to the NSRI.
"As in previous years, this year's festival offers fabulous prizes received from the many generous sponsors, previous as well as new.
Here, during 2016's festival, are some NSRI members with then Miss SA semi-finalist Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters.
