Update
KNYSNA NEWS - The Knysna Rotary Club recently went the extra mile to assist the Knysna CPF with the refurbishment of the Victim Friendly Room at the Knysna Police Station.
The Victim Friendly Room is a safe space where the basic elements of victim empowerment can be provided, emotional and practical support can be given and the necessary information and referrals to professional support services can be supplied.
The Knysna Rotary Club thanks the following individuals and organisations for their support and contribution towards the refurbishment of the Victim Friendly Room:
Homecare Construction (Structural), PJ Strydom (Plumbing), Lara Barnard (Carpet Co), Neville Eustice (Loerie Signs), Jurgen Bunge (Mike & Honey), Epilepsy SA Southern Cape Karoo branch, Kloppers, and Cheryl Britz (Knysna CPF) for her support and patience. In turn, the Knysna CPF and the police extend a heartfelt thanks to all the Rotarians for their personal contributions, and to the Rotary Anns for the new furniture, kitchenware and toys for the unit.
"A friendly safe space for victims of gender-based violence and femicide is paramount.
"The clear signage on the unit and all the time spent and contributions made by the Knysna Rotary Club and its charitable partners is highly valued and appreciated," said Britz.
