KNYSNA NEWS - The Knysna Municipality's joint operations centre says reservoirs supplying water to Brenton-on-Sea, Noetzie, Bigai and Sunridge are at a critically low level.
"We strongly urge residents in these areas to use water sparingly to allow storage levels to stabilise and recover," it said in a statement released jointly with the Garden Route District Municipality and the Western Cape government.
The centre is co-ordinating multi-agency efforts to supply residents with water and end the water crisis in the Greater Knysna area, following infrastructure failures at the Charlesford and Homtini pump stations.
It said a dedicated water tanker is on standby to support Brenton-on-Sea and other areas experiencing supply challenges.
Should Brenton-on-Sea residents require water, they are asked to contact the Emergency Services directly on 044 302 8911/060 998 6969.
The standby tanker is currently servicing Eastford and may be redirected based on need and availability.
