GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Residents of the Garden Route District are being encouraged to review and comment on the integrated development plan and budget documents that will guide the region’s development over the next few years.
The Garden Route District Municipality (GRDM) has announced that its draft amended integrated development plan (IDP) for 2022–2027, along with the draft medium term revenue and expenditure framework (MTREF) and multi-year budget for 2026/2027 to 2028/2029, are now open for public comment.
These documents were prepared in line with national legislation, including the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act (Act 32 of 2000) and the Municipal Finance Management Act (Act 56 of 2003). They were formally presented and considered during a council meeting held on 31 March.
Members of the public can view the draft plans and budget at:
- Local libraries across the district
- Municipal satellite offices
- The municipality’s IDP Unit at 54 York Street, George
