PLETTENBERG BAY - The public has been asked to help identify the decomposed body of a man, dressed in an ANC t-shirt, that was discovered on the beach at The Dunes, near Keurbooms Strand, on Saturday 14 September.
Southern Cape spokesperson, Sergeant Chris Spies, said Plettenberg Bay police have opened an inquest docket after the body washed out on the beach at The Dunes, Keurbooms.
“Police were despatched to the scene where the body was found at about 18:30.
“On arrival they were directed to the body of a man by security personnel deployed in the area. The deceased was dressed in a yellow t-shirt with an ANC logo and a black track suit,” said Spies.
An autopsy to determine the cause of death will be conducted during the week, he said.
The investigating officer, Sergeant Khumani Mayekiso, urged the public to come forward with any information which could assist identifying the deceased.
