PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - A case of reckless and negligent driving is being investigated by Plettenberg Bay Detectives after a police van crashed into a lamppost and a house in Pinetrees on Tuesday 17 March.
Southern Cape police spokesperson Warrant Officer Chris Spies said police management “noted” a video circulating on social media on the incident.
Spies said reports available indicated that police members were attending to information on criminal activities when the vehicle left the road at about 12:30 on Tuesday.
“The members sustained minor injuries and are receiving the necessary support from employee health and wellness practitioners. The members, from Kwanokuthula Police, were on duty at the time of the incident and the driver was not under the influence of liquor,” said Spies.
He said station management also attended the scene and an internal investigation was under way.
No arrests have been made.
