KNYSNA NEWS - Passers-by and visitors to the Knysna Police Station were treated to a cup of hot soup and bread on Friday 18 July, in celebration of Mandela Day. The event formed part of a collaborative initiative between the Knysna Community Police Forum (CPF) and the Department of Correctional Services (DCS).
"The partners came together to serve the community with a hearty soup, one kind cup at a time," said Cheryl Britz, CPF chairperson.
"With Madiba’s words in mind - ‘It always seems impossible until it’s done’ - we aimed to show the power of unity and compassion."
Britz emphasised that both the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the DCS remain committed to promoting peace, inspiring belief in what is possible, and encouraging ongoing acts of kindness.
"We urge everyone to keep paying it forward - every day, with kindness and a smile."
She also commended the dedicated officials who responded to the call to action, helping to honour and carry forward Nelson Mandela’s legacy.
