KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna Police are calling on the public to assist them in tracing a 47-year-old man, George William Cameron, in connection with an attempted robbery at Waterfront Drive in Knysna on 5 May.
Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies said Cameron is believed to be in the Cape Town area.
“It is alleged that a 69-year-old woman was lured by a man into a business transaction near the Waterfront. Upon arrival the man got into her vehicle where he threatened the woman. He poured petrol on the victim’s body and attempted to rob her.
"She managed to escape the ordeal and went to seek assistance. The suspect fled on foot thereafter,” he said.
A search for the suspect was unsuccessful. A warrant for his arrest was issued in the Knysna Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Monday 28 June.

The investigation continues.
