PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - After putting live performances on ice as a result of the global Covid-19 pandemic, the Bitou Amateur Theatrical Society (Bats) plans to take to the stage again and is looking for fresh talent to join the team.
Those who are interested in flexing their acting muscles need not worry as they will be supported by several stalwarts, including one of South Africa's first television personalities, former professional actor David Hall-Green.
He and another Plett local, Roger Davis, started Bats in 2012 and have since staged seven very successful theatrical productions that were sold out and hugely appreciated and enjoyed by local audiences.
"We have built up a great team of actors, most of whom had never appeared on stage before," says Hall-Green.
"Our main aim is to enjoy the thrill of acting in live productions, to raise funds for Plettenberg Bay Animal Welfare Society (Paws) and to provide quality entertainment for our community."
No experience is needed, just a love of live performance and a commitment to rehearsals a couple of evenings per week.
"We can guarantee a huge amount of fun while you learn some stagecraft," says Hall-Green.
Those who want to join can contact him on 083 407 6640.
