UPDATE @ 15:10 - An Eskom team from George have now been called to assist Bitou with restoring electricity to large parts of Plettenberg Bay following a major fault at the Brakkloof substation on Saturday night.
Bitou muncipal spokesman Manfred van Rooyen said the repair required specialised equipment and therefore the Eskom team from George had been called to assist.
The areas affected include, among others, Robberg, Longships, Beachy Head and Whale Rock.
PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Large parts of Plettenberg Bay has been without electricity since the early hours of Sunday morning.
Bitou municipal spokesman Manfred van Rooyen said it was due to a major fault that occurred at the Brakkloof main substation at about 02:20.
A team is busy to doing the necessary repairs, but unavailibility of the required materials and parts has complicated the repairs.
