The award recognises women in the local community who show compassion and who take action to improve the lives of others.
This year the awards were made to the following very deserving ladies who have a huge impact in improving the lives of many individuals in their various communities:
Gilda Scammell for her Living Cornerstone project caring for those with dementia; Jennifer Howorth who implemented services for dementia sufferers and who has ensured better training for care workers and improved healthcare for Alzheimer sufferers in the Southern Cape; Margaret Talmaggies who continues to feed children, the disabled and jobless in her community with tireless determination and devotion.
A cheque was also handed to Barbara Getliffe to be used by Cansa to support patients in the Knysna area.
"The Rotary Anns of Knysna applaud their spirit of generosity and kindness, their resilience and all their good work in the community," said Knysna Rotary Anns president, Jill Warne.
