PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - Chaos ensued in Plettenberg Bay for several hours on Monday 26 February when two of the town's main roads were closed for maintenance at the same time.
Not only was Beacon Way closed from Zenon Street to Main Street, but Odlands Drive was also closed, forcing motorists to enter Plett from the N2 only.
This led to major congestion during the course of the morning, especially at the Piesang Valley and N2 intersection, until pointsmen arrived to direct traffic.
The Beacon Way closure is due to an upgrade of the deteriorating road, which is expected to be completed by October 2018, while the Odlands closure is just for the short term for maintenance.
The latter is expected to be completed by Friday 2 March.
