KNYSNA NEWS - Following on from the success of its first Art in the Park event in September, the Knysna Arts Society (Kas) managed to bring local artists together once more at a second Art in the Park, held recently at Blackwaters River Lodge.
The first event at the same venue on 4 September was blessed with perfect weather for artists to exhibit their works. This time round, while organisers and participants woke up to stormy skies, the rain cleared beautifully just in time for the start of the exhibitions.
Over 30 artists participated, filling the lawns with paintings, sculptures, pottery and more. Visitors enjoyed the art and meals and treats at Earth and Fire Restaurant and their coffee kombi.
The next Art in the Park at Blackwaters River Lodge will be on Thursday 16 December.
"This one will be even bigger with a group of bronze artists exhibiting together as the Bronze Fields Collective," said Kas' Peta Bennett. "We hope to host close to 50 artists in December."
Visual and performance artists who would like to participate can e-mail to knysnaartssociety@gmail.com for more information.
