The new route started on the beach in Buffles Bay and took runners along the rocky shoreline and the beach towards Brenton-on-Sea where the long and short routes split. Runners had a short jaunt in the fire-damaged area before popping out on the old railway line to finish back at the Cruise Café in Knysna.
Local hero Melikaya Nsizi took the win in the exceptionally challenging 21km distance with Shaun Gregory and Marsel Roos in second and third respectively.
Today also saw Boccia for the disabled in partnership with the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport take place. The event was well-attended by locals and tourists as they came out to support the players.

All Day – Events and Environment Sustainability Master Class
The Events incubation Programme is on one of 10 projects stemming from the Integrated Events Strategy for Cape Town and the Western Cape. The programme facilitates projects aimed at event organisers focusing on capacitation, research and impact assessments and include; an annual Events Incubation Conference, standardising event impact assessment methodologies, facilitating on-site/one-on-one learning opportunities between emerging and established event organisers and the Master Class series.

10:00 Artful Waste Challenge
Teams (kids only & family teams) will consist of a maximum of 5 members and start with the clean-up of a route along the lagoon.
They will finish at the Official Festival Venue and will use the waste collected (and additional recyclable waste provided) to make ocean conservation themed art pieces. The best art pieces in each category will then receive a prize.
17:00 Pick n Pay Seafood Wednesday

The Momentum Health Kiddies Area is a huge plus for moms and dads – it’s fully equipped with a team of qualified of child-minders who will entertain your littlies throughout the duration of the Festival. As an added bonus, the Kiddies Area will be open until 10pm for Pick n Pay Seafood Wednesday and Flavour of Knysna, so parents can enjoy the evening safe in the knowledge that their precious cargo is in good hands!
