"We're thrilled to report on the successful staging of the South African Senior Open at our very own Plettenberg Bay Country Club!" said club manager Tyler Chislett. "The tournament saw an impressive display of golfing prowess, with professionals and amateurs alike praising the course."
There were 41 professionals making the cut for the final round.
The final three-ball featured Adilson da Silva, Ulrich van den Berg and Doug McGuigan.
Victory on the 18th
After a nail-biting battle on the course, McGuigan took the victory on the 18th hole.
"We were also treated to not one, but two remarkable holes-in-one on the 13th hole, achieved by James Faber followed by Brett Liddle," Chislett said.
He extended a "huge thank you" to James Kingston, the tournament host and proud ambassador member of Plett CC, along with the Gravitas team for their tireless efforts in organising this event.
"We also extend our gratitude to the Sunshine Legends Tour for partnering with us and to our members for the use of the golf course and for their enthusiastic support throughout the tournament.
"We're proud to have hosted such a high-profile event and look forward to future collabo-rations that showcase our club's exceptional facilities and warm hospitality," said Chislett.
