KNYSNA NEWS - The workers of the Knysna Municipality’s water, sanitation, and vehicle technician units were treated to a lunch recently hosted by the Knysna Infrastructure Group (KIG).
Held at Blend Country Restaurant, the event served as a thank you, on behalf of the residents of Knysna, to the municipal employees for their dedication and continued service to the community.
“Their extended hours of work and personal commitment to ensure Knysna residents are served is highly appreciated and the luncheon was a small token off our appreciation,” said KIG in a statement.
Take-away packs were prepared for all staff who worked the previous day and handed to them at the points where they were working to ensure continued service to Knysna.
Sponsors
The KIG thanked the sponsors of the event:
- Blend Restaurant and its staff, who opened the restaurant specially to host the event, and did the food preparation and service
- Greeff’s Butchery for sponsoring the steaks for the event
- VTC for their contribution
- Knysna Heads Ratepayers Association for its contribution
- Mr and Mrs Molefe for attendance and contribution
- The contributor who wishes to remain anonymous - your generosity is highly appreciated
John Houghton, who initiated the idea, was thanked for raising the sponsorships and assisted in making all the arrangements.
“Most of all, a big thank you to our honoured guests, the men and women that serve Knysna. We know that you often work under difficult conditions, at times having residents take their frustrations out on you, yet you persist in serving.
“Be assured, your work does not go unnoticed and we appreciate all of you,” said KIG.
