KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna and Sedgefield residents will recognise a familiar face in a new role at the Knysna-Plett Herald, as Shelley Vorster joins the publication as its new sales consultant.
Vorster is no stranger to the greater Knysna and Sedgefield area where she has built a strong reputation through years of dedicated community service. She currently serves as president of the well-known community organisation, the Knysna Lions, and is also the Western Cape blood donor representative for Sedgefield, where she has lived for the past 13 years.
Her deep-rooted involvement in local initiatives reflects a long-standing commitment to giving back; something she describes as a core part of who she is.
"I've always applied the same philosophy in every aspect of life: helping others. I believe in networking and meeting new people," Vorster says.
Before joining the Knysna-Plett Herald, Vorster ran her own coffee shop, gaining first-hand experience in the challenges small business owners face. Her understanding of the local commercial landscape was further strengthened by her significant experience in the distribution, sales and marketing of her mother's small business.
This combination of entrepreneurial insight and community engagement positions her well in her new role where she will work closely with local businesses to enhance their visibility.
"As a former business owner, I know all too well the importance of exposure in the right medium, and that's what I'm here to do," she says.
With her extensive local knowledge, passion for people and proven business acumen, Vorster is set to be a valuable asset to both the Knysna-Plett Herald and the wider community it serves.
