KNYSNA NEWS - A man was arrested in Knysna on Saturday 25 January in connection with a small amount of copper that was seized by police.
Sergeant Christopher Spies, police spokesperson for the Southern Cape, said "concerted efforts to curb the damage to essential infrastructure in the Garden Route district led to the arrest of a man".
He said officers attached to the Garden Route District Crime Combating Team and Knysna Crime Prevention Unit had been on patrol in Concordia Road, when a Toyota Tazz drew their attention at about 20:25.

"The vigilant members pulled over the vehicle and proceeded with a search," Spies said.
The search allegedly led to the discovery of small quantiles of copper wire and pipes.
The driver of the vehicle, aged 46, was arrested on a charge of possession of suspected stolen property.
Spies said origin of the items was being investigated.
