Update
KNYSNA NEWS - The man accused of murdering Knysna lawyer Coenraad de Beer and his friend James Kriel on a smallholding in Vioolsdrift, Japie Claassens (59), was granted bail in the Springbok Magistrate's Court yesterday, 15 November.
The bail amount was R5 000.
“Claasens is scheduled to make his next court appearance on 13 December,” says Northern Cape police spokesperson Colonel Cherelle Ehlers.
Claassens was arrested on Tuesday 31 October in connection with the shooting incident that resulted in the deaths of two individuals.
The incident occurred on Monday 30 October at a smallholding in Vioolsdrift.
Claasens previously attended court briefly on 7 November as part of the bail application hearing.
