KNYSNA NEWS - A 41-year-old man briefly appeared in the Knysna Magistrate's Court on Thursday 10 May in connection with the rape of a minor earlier this year.
The 15-year-old girl from eQolweni, White Location was allegedly raped by Sakhumzi Mjela on 12 January and as he was denied bail, he has been in custody since then.
State prosecutor Phumlani Gqalangile said the investigation into the matter has been finalised and she requested that the case be postponed to 12 June for a regional court date to be set.
Members of the ANC Women's League were present at court in support of the victim and her family.
