PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - In celebration of Mandela Day, Robberg Bay Shopping Centre hosted a Secret Sunrise dance event, bringing the community together in a joyful expression of unity and purpose.
Organised in collaboration with Ascend Advertising, Secret Sunrise Garden Route, and The Joy Movement, the “Madiba Magic” sunrise session saw 167 participants gather to dance in silence, dressed in vibrant colours and symbols of freedom.
As the morning unfolded, the magic was undeniable: a child’s delighted cry of “Double rainbow!” led the crowd to see a radiant arc of colour - nature’s tribute to Madiba, said one of the organisers.
"Moments later, rain fell, but no one moved. Drenched and beaming, the group remained united by joy, purpose and the legacy of Nelson Mandela.
"Over R5 000 was raised during the event and will be donated to funding two “joy sessions” for a local hospital and a children’s home. Thanks to Charlene Harte, Gojoy.love, Nikki Jackman Joy, Cecile With Love & Light, and Chris Fisher for making the morning unforgettable."
