KNYSNA NEWS - Well-known Knysna resident Koos van Eeden was the guest speaker at the recent monthly lunch meeting of the Knysna Probus Club, an international association for retired and semi-retired professionals and businessmen.
Van Eeden delivered an engaging talk focused on the importance of controlled hunting and wildlife preservation.
Drawing from his extensive personal experience, he explained how he began hunting at a young age alongside his father and quickly gained recognition - not only for his skill with a Sako rifle, but also for his exceptional ability to organise hunting expeditions.
His reputation eventually led to invitations to lead hunting parties across southern Africa. Throughout his talk, Van Eeden strongly emphasised the need for safety, regulation and conservation in all hunting activities.
His message highlighted how responsible hunting practices can coexist with efforts to protect and preserve the continent’s rich wildlife heritage.
