KNYSNA NEWS - The Knysna Yachting Season was declared officially open this past Saturday, and to celebrate the occasion, members of the Knysna Yacht Club and dignitaries were invited for a cruise around the Knysna Estuary on a luxurious yacht.
Simultaneously the occasion also signals the beginning of all watersport on the estuary.
As tradition requires, the cruise was followed by the designated commodore of the Knysna Yacht Club receiving the traditional royal salute.
On the yacht, the Knysna and Districts Pipe Band entertained the passengers while they enjoyed beautiful views of the estuary.
The Knysna Yacht Club was established in 1910 and the club's sailing and canoeing activities as well as other watersport are well known nationally.
