KNYSNA NEWS - Residents who are determined to see a cleaner environment around town have taken it upon themselves to clean and tidy up Knysna under the banner of a non-profit community group, Revive Knysna.
Revive Knysna is on a quest to breathe new life into Knysna. Their first project, on Thursday 5 August, entailed cleaning up and planting flowers on the sidewalk along the train tracks at the Long Street/Waterfront Drive intersection. Speaking on behalf of Revive Knysna, Gail Sofianos said,
"We understand that tourism took a dip. Our aim is to promote it and contribute towards getting Knysna ready for when things go back to 'normal'."
She said they have a few projects in the pipeline for the Greater Knysna. "For now we will start with the CBD, which is the heart of the town. Once it is clean then everything will flourish."
The municipality thanked the group for their work in a social media post: "Thank you Revive Knysna for braving the rain and making Knysna blossom."
