KNYSNA NEWS - The number of recoveries from Covid-19 in Knysna has slowed significantly in the past week, with only six new recoveries, while the number of deaths has increased to 51.
In the four weeks leading up to 21 October, the town recorded week-on-week recovery increases of 46, 60, 18, and 29 with the latter a good jump compared to the week before.
It has, however, slowed substantially now as between 21 and 28 October, only six Covid-19 recoveries were recorded.
As at 28 October, Knysna had a total of 1 630 cases, of which 1 540 have recovered, 51 have died, and 39 are active cases. This means there were 35 new cases this week, with the number of active cases more than tripling from last week (11 on 21 October), and the deaths increasing from 50 to 51.
In Bitou, there is a total of 682 cases, of which 648 have recovered, 24 have died, and seven are active cases. This shows 22 new cases in Bitou this week, with the number of active cases still dropping (from 15 to seven), and the deaths remaining the same.
