KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna Municipality has advised to not visit cemeteries, as they are only open for funerals.
A notice on the municipality’s Facebook page states that this is in accordance with the relevant Covid level 3 restrictions.
“Visits to the cemeteries are prohibited. There is also a ban on the erection or alteration of tombstones. This is in line with the President's announcement that encourages social distancing in an effort to curb the spread,” reads the notice.
The municipality said no more than 50 persons are allowed to attend funerals.
“Burials are also spaced out to reduce the number of people in graveyards. Restrictions remain in place until 15 February 2021,” reads the notice.
