KNYSNA NEWS - Dr Michelle Schlodder, a Knysna-based clinical psychologist, is on her way to recovery after she was critically injured in an accident on the R72 between Kenton-on-Sea and Alexandria on Sunday, 9 June which claimed the life of popular Afrikaans singer Jacques de Coning.
Schlodder, who lives on a farm in Kraaibosch, has conducted her practice in Knysna over the last 10 years, based at the Knysna Private Nursing Practice in Spring Street.
Schlodder was on her way back home from Port Elizabeth on the R72 between Kenton-on-Sea and Alexandria when she collided with what turned out to be Jacques de Coning’s vehicle some time between 10:30 and 10:45 (reports differ as to the exact time of the accident).
De Coning died following the impact, while Schlodder suffered two fractures to her right femur and was transported to Livingstone Hospital for immediate medical attention where she underwent a major operation.
