KNYSNA NEWS - To help fire victims, Knysna Disaster Fund has to buy items of kitchenware that are paid for from the proceeds of its twice-yearly street collections.
Rotary Anns’ outgoing president Fern Emanuel chose Knysna Disaster Fund as one of the beneficiaries of monies raised during her year in office. The fund decided to use this donation to buy pots and, on contacting Hendler & Hart to see what they could offer for a large order, they generously discounted the normal price and sent the consignment of 55 pots down to Knysna free of charge.
A delighted Daphne Hennessey, chairperson of Knysna Disaster Fund since 2012 and the fund's longest-serving member at close to 30 years, commented, "Our association with Rotary Anns, and indeed the Rotary Club, goes back many years and we are so grateful to have such a wonderful contribution. We certainly expect this stock of pots to take us through the next 12 months at least.
My thanks go to Fern for choosing us, and I also wish the new president, Sue Mills, a very successful year ahead… I would also add my thanks to Louise and Neli at Hendler & Hart for how they have helped Knysna Disaster Fund," Hennessey added.
