KNYSNA NEWS - The Regional Court in Knysna has sentenced two men to jail terms for murder.
On 27 June, Siyanda Skali (27) was handed 12 years' imprisonment and Gavin Jantjies (35) 15 years' imprisonment after being convicted of the murder of Lungisile Majola (37) on 16 January 2022.
An investigation revealed that Skali and Jantjies assaulted Majola outside the Bafana Bafana shop in Concordia, Knysna. Majola was stabbed in the head and chest and was later declared dead by medical personnel.
Police arrested Skali and Jantjies soon thereafter, each on a murder charge.
They had been in custody since their arrest.
Western Cape police management commended the investigating officer and the prosecutor for their diligence and commitment in ensuring long-term sentences were imposed on the two men.
