PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - A close friend of Kimon (Kiki) Bosogno has posted her life philosophy on Facebook shortly after her untimely death in a shark attack in Plettenberg Bay on Sunday.
A moving post by close friend Danni Shein shows Kiki reflecting on her life beliefs during an interview for the Faces of Change campaign, which was recorded a year ago.
Kiki's life journey is reflected in pictures to illustrate her happiness and her passion to put smiles on the faces of everyone around her.
Shein says her friend brought joy and celebration into the seriousness of life.
"She would do things just to put a smile on the faces of those around her. Embodying this simple notion, each and every day, she was an integral part of many communities that stretch across cultures, colours and countries. With her warm and loving smile, her heart always served others, creating safe spaces for those who needed them most," says Shein.
Here is Kiki's message from the interview:
"I've found that people [are] taking life very seriously and we need to bring some more joy back into our daily lives. Everything I do is just to put a smile on the face of all the people I knew. And I really want all the projects I work on to do that.
When people receive their warm bowl of pasta, I want them to feel their lives. When they eat their delicious pizza, I want them to feel their lives, and when they are laughing I want them to respect the space of gratefulness that we often lack in a day-to-day life of just getting through things.
So, my vision is not a goal, but a daily new beginning that every day you can wake up and put a smile on your face and become you...
A saint is a fellow who tries and tries again.
Every day is a fresh start, it's a new beginning. Just try again... and you never know what's going to become your rainbow.
I don't expect a thank you… I just love my community.
Ja… I just love the smiles.
Keep smiling. ..
Your body is your real life partner. Look after it. Treat it well... and have fun!"
