KNYSNA NEWS - Knysna residents have until 10 May to comment on the new draft budget of Mayor Aubrey Tswenga.
A series of proposed tariff increases are contained in the draft budget, the biggest, 15%, for electricity.
Knysna residents face some significant tariff increases in the proposed budget, tabled by mayor Aubrey Tswenga on 29 March.
The recommended tariff increases for the new financial year include:
- electricity (15%),
- water (4,9%),
- sanitation (4,9%) and
- refuse (10%)
Property rates will see an increase of 4,9% on all categories from the reduced rate in rand applied in the previous financial year of residential and base rate, as well as businesses, said Tswenga.
