PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - With Plettenberg Bay steeped in history, big plans are on the cards to preserve and maintain some of its historical buildings and spots.
At a recent meeting of the Van Plettenberg Bay Historical Society (VPHS) it was revealed that plans are being drawn up to add a museum, coffee shop, tourist information centre and auditorium to the old Timber Shed in Meeding Street in order to highlight Plett's historical sites.
The building dates back 238 years when it was used as a storage room for logs and timber before it was shipped to Cape Town for the building of the Castle of Good Hope.
Extensive funding would be required for future Timber Shed plans and the society will be working closely with stakeholders, including the Plett Tourism Association.
