GEORGE NEWS - The George Post Office branch is currently closed, but is scheduled to reopen on Wednesday 22 April.
According to a statement issued today by the South African Post Office (Sapo), the temporary closure is due to unforeseen staffing constraints following the conclusion of internal disciplinary proceedings.
Sapo said to ensure continued service delivery, it has initiated the secondment of temporary personnel to support the remaining George team.
In the interim, a revised operating schedule has been implemented to balance services between George and Sedgefield.
The revised operating schedule, starting on Monday 20 April, will be as follows, until further notice:

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday | George branch open (supported by Sedgefield management) |
Saturday trading hours
Saturday openings will be as follows:
- George Post Office: Open 1st and 4th Saturday of the month.
- Sedgefield Post Office: Closed on all Saturdays.
